Love Me

Turn on the light.
It’s been dark for far too long now.
It feels like years.
I’m stuck in a hole and love is unheard of.
I didn’t receive love growing up.
So that is why I appreciate it more at an older age.
My family figures were only elusions.
Realistically they didn’t exist.
So I write, express and in return hope to receive love.

  1. What we receive or don’t receive in childhood has an effect on the rest of our lives. I believe that so many of the societal problems originates from children who grew up in broken or dysfunctional homes. I think it also comes from a lack of belief in anything, we have become worse since we’ve taken God out of our lives. Those who make it out of such childhoods with sanity and stability are truly strong and an example to others.
